[ARCHIVED] American Red Cross Lifeguarding Classes held at the Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA


Are you interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard?  Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard.  Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding.  We are offering two (2) sessions of Lifeguarding which will be held at the Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA located at 35 North Booth Street, Dubuque.


Session II is held on Saturday, March 16th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm AND Sunday, March 17th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  (class dismissal time subject to change)  (4 spots left)  

Session III is held on Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm AND Sunday, April 14th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  (class dismissal time subject to change)  (10 spots left)  


PREREQUISITES:  Must be at least 15 years of age and pass certain swimming requirements.  STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT EACH DAY OF TRAINING, NO EXCEPTIONS.


Fees are $180 for resident; $216 for non-resident.
