[ARCHIVED] Applications Sought for Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission

The City of Dubuque is accepting applications for four positions on the Dubuque Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission.


Applications are available on the City of Dubuque’s web site at www.cityofdubuque.org on the City Clerk’s page or by contacting Deputy City Clerk Kevin Firnstahl at 563-589-4120. Applications are due by noon on Wednesday, June 2, 2010.

The Commission consists of seven members. The commission positions are for a three-year term and must be filled by applicants who have significant knowledge and demonstrated interested in one or more areas of the arts including music, dance, literature, visual arts, theatre, folk arts, media arts, design, or arts education.

The purpose of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission is to plan, promote and encourage programs to further public awareness of, accessibility to, participation in and support for the artistic and cultural development of the city. The Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the establishment of arts and cultural policies and programs, the expenditure of budgeted City funds for arts and cultural activities, and the implementation of programs for arts and culture.
