Spring temperatures have arrived early in Dubuque this year and Dubuque's 2024 Winter Arts Snow Sculpting Festival has been canceled due to the warmer than normal temperatures.
The event was originally scheduled for Feb. 7-11 and was postponed to Feb. 15-18 in hopes the weather would change, but organizers with the Dubuque Museum of Art and City of Dubuque Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs have decided to cancel this year's snow sculpting competition and all associated events and activities.
The public is still invited to enjoy the museum's opening weekend of "Picturing America’s Pastime: A Snapshot of the Photograph Collection at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum" and the K-8 Student Exhibition, which showcases student work from every neighborhood in our community as curated by high school art students.
