On July 1st, 2010, investigators with the Dubuque Police Department executed a 2nd search warrant at the residence of Tamelia Shonte Harris 08/20/77 of 1970 St. Joseph Street, Dubuque, IA.
During an exterior search of the property, investigators located what they believe to be human remains. The recovered remains were sent to the Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office for processing and identification.
Tamelia remains in the custody of the Dubuque County Jail on a charge of Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person. Her bond is $250,000.
As with any criminal case, the charges filed are allegations and any suspect(s) charged are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
