The City of Dubuque’s Keyline Transit Division, in partnership with the Regional Transit Authority (RTA), is pleased to announce an extension of Keyline’s Red Line...
Riders can use this shuttle to get back and forth to work at any business along Chavenelle Drive.
"Keyline is experimenting with providing transit services to the Dubuque Industrial Center West," said Economic Development Director David Heiar. "Hopefully, many of the employees at these industries will be interested in reducing their out-of-pocket costs."
Generally speaking, utilizing public transit saves on gas and insurance costs, reduces car wear and tear, reduces traffic-related stress, increases commute-related exercise, and benefits communities by reducing air pollution, traffic congestion, and oil dependence.
For persons interested in riding this shuttle, the RTA currently provides a loop, picking up passengers from the JFK transfer station (near the old Econo Foods) and takes riders to the Industrial Center West area starting on Chavenelle Drive from the Northwest Arterial. The loop will occur four times in the morning, and four times in the afternoon to accommodate various shifts. Riders can park and ride in the old Econo Foods parking lot to access from the JFK transfer station or they can ride Keyline Transit to get to the JFK transfer station.
Riders can access Keyline routes and schedules by calling Keyline at 563-589-4196 or visiting www.cityofdubuque.org/transit. For specific times and route stops for the Redline Extension, please call the RTA at 1-800-839-5005.
