[ARCHIVED] City to Issue Residential Energy Efficiency Rebates

The City of Dubuque is offering residential energy efficiency rebates to Dubuque homeowners to help pay for certified energy audits and retrofits.

The Home Energy Efficiency Audit & Retrofit Reimbursement, funded through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG), is provided to individually metered residential units (including rentals) located in the city of Dubuque. The amount of reimbursement is up to $250 for a certified (RESNET or BPI) home energy audit and up to $250 for approved energy efficiency retrofits. A certified energy audit is not required in order to receive the retrofit reimbursement. However, it is highly recommended that you have an audit completed to identify the largest and easiest opportunities for energy efficiency opportunities in your home.

Reimbursements are available one time per 12 months per service address (one audit reimbursement and one retrofit reimbursement). A new customer can apply for a reimbursement even if the previous customer has received one within the last 12 months. Residents must provide proof of their purchase in order to be reimbursed up to $250 for a certified audit and up to $250 for eligible energy efficiency improvements to their home included, but not limited to, energy efficient lighting, insulation, doors and/or windows, renewable energy systems, and energy management systems.

Residents are encouraged to leverage this rebate with other available utility rebates and state and national tax incentives to maximize the efficiency of their spending. A limited number of rebates are available, and will be issued to the first qualifying households until all funds are spent.
