[ARCHIVED] Dubuque Police Arrest Robbery Suspect

On Monday, October 25th, 2010 at approximately 9:37 a.m., Dubuque Police arrested Curtis (NMN) Smith, 09/11/86, (no known permanent address) in the area of 20th & White Street.

Smith was taken into custody on an outstanding Parole Violation warrant issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections. During initial contact with officers, Smith provided false information, leading to an additional charge of Interference with Official Acts. Further investigation led to Smith also being charged with Robbery 1st degree for his alleged involvement in the October 21st robbery of cab driver Merle Forbes, 76, of Platteville. Smith remains incarcerated in the Dubuque County Jail on the above charges with a bond of $50,000 cash.

As with any criminal case, the charges filed are allegations and any suspect(s) charged are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
