[ARCHIVED] Leisure Services Department names new Recreation Supervisor

The Leisure Services Department names Tony Elskamp as our new Recreation Program Supervisor.


City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department Manager, Marie Ware, named Anthony Elskamp as the new Recreation Program Supervisor for the Recreation Division. “Tony comes to us with a wealth of experience in a variety of recreational settings so he can hit the ground running.” He replaces Molly Weis that retired with over 30 years of service. He will be responsible for the development of recreation classes, activities, programs and services to the community including target neighborhoods.


Anthony has a strong 10 year background of providing recreation services to inner city community centers, youth and adult sports programs in the West Allis and Milwaukee, Wisconsin Recreation Divisions. He also worked in Boulder, CO as a Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor prior to returning to his home state of Wisconsin. Anthony is described as an innovator, team player, resourceful and true professional by his peers and supervisors.

Anthony stated upon accepting the position “I cannot express how extremely excited my family and I are to be able to work for a great organization. We are truly looking forward to this outstanding opportunity and cannot wait to begin this position with such a great team!”
Anthony has a masters degree in Recreation Management and a bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation both from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Tony will begin on March 1.
