[ARCHIVED] PUBLIC INPUT MEETING TONIGHT (Nov. 18th) FOR PROPOSAL TO ALLOW DOGS IN MAJORITY OF CITY PARKS

The Dubuque Park and Recreation Commission is hosting a public input meeting TONIGHT (November 18th) regarding an ordinance proposal to allow dogs in the majority of city parks.

The meeting is being held to allow residents to share feedback, comments or concerns relating to the proposal with Park and Recreation commissioners. Residents will each be allowed up to two minutes to share their comments. The Dubuque Park and Recreation Commission, which serves in an advisory role to the City Council, is considering the ordinance proposal for recommendation to the City Council. The City Council would have to approve any change to the current ordinance.

For a list of parks and trails where leashed pets are currently allowed or to view the current proposed ordinance, please visit www.cityofdubuque.org/parks or call 563-589-4263.

For further information on the commission’s proposal to change the current ordinance, please call Park and Recreation Commission Chair Ken Klinge at 563-557-8872.
