Dubuque Main Street’s Architecture Days, April 11-16, 2016
Dubuque Main Street, once again in collaboration with many local businesses and organizations, will celebrate Architecture Days, “Banks and Finance” from April 11-16, 2016, featuring tours and events inviting the public to experience historic downtown buildings that house financial institutions or once did.
DMS experts will lead tours and discuss changes these buildings have undergone throughout the generations, and how the institutions housed within these buildings have been crucial to the renaissance of restoration Dubuque has experienced. A panel discussion will also provide a deeper look into this fascinating narrative.
Architecture Days, now in its tenth year, is inspired by National Architecture Week. The mission of Architecture Days is to heighten the recognition of architecture as an art form and to explore the rich architectural landscape of Dubuque through programming for all ages. Architecture Days offers the public the opportunity to learn more about architecture and Dubuque’s historic fabric, celebrating our sense of place, our unique treasures, and the city’s growth through commitment to architectural re-use and community.
