[ARCHIVED] Domestic Disturbance Investigation Ongoing

On August 30th, 2016, at 7:10 a.m., Dubuque Police responded to the area of 2176 Foye Street on the report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.

Upon arrival, officers located the man nearby in the yard at 505 Merchants Lane. He was immediately transported to Finley Hospital for treatment of his injury, not believed to be life-threatening.

As the investigation progressed, police learned there was a domestic disturbance at 2176 Foye Street involving an adult female and the above referenced man. During the disturbance, the male alleged shot himself with a handgun. After doing so, the female fled the residence with the wounded male also leaving shortly thereafter. The weapon involved was recovered inside the Foye Street residence and both the female and a child present during the disturbance were located. The female was transported to Finley Hospital for treatment and later released. The child was physically unharmed. The male remains hospitalized at Finley Hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing with charges pending. Additional information will be released when available and authorized.
