[ARCHIVED] 30th Annual Bald Eagle Watch in Dubuque, Iowa - Saturday, January 20th

The Annual Bald Eagle Watch in Dubuque is on Saturday, January 20th at the Grand River Center, 500 Bell Street, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The American Bald Eagle visits the Upper Mississippi River each year from mid-December through February.


This FREE family event celebrates the American Bald Eagle with live bird programs and children's activities.  Vendors will have wildlife art, books and nature items available for purchase.  Exhibitors will share information about opportunities to experience nature in the tri-state area.  See below for schedule of events:


9:30 - 10:15 am, Live birds of prey  (Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Milwaukee, WI)

11:00 - 11:45 am, Big Owls Hoot, Little Owls Hoot  (Naturalist, Mike Havlik, Dallas County, IA)

12:15 - 1:00 pm, Live birds of prey  (Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Milwaukee, WI)

1:45 - 2:30 pm, Big Owls Hoot, Little Owls Hoot (Naturalist, Mike Havlik, Dallas County, IA)

3:00 - 3:45 pm, Live birds of prey  (Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Milwaukee, WI)


Nature related children's activities will be provided between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:30 pm by E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center, Swiss Valley Nature Center, Hurstville Interpretive Center and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.


Don't forget to catch the FREE Jule shuttle service between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.  The Jule will be leaving every 20 minutes from the Grand River Center to the Lock and Dam #11 for live eagle viewing.  Park your vehicle at the Grand River Center and hop on the shuttle to get the full experience of the Eagle Watch, using an environmentally friendly mode of transportation.  Shuttle pickup/drop off times will be posted at each spot.
