Downtown Parking Changes and Detour for Saturday

DUBUQUE, Iowa  –  The City of Dubuque is announcing some parking changes and traffic detours due to the Obama for America campaign event at Washington Park on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m.

On-street parking will NOT be allowed on Bluff Street or Locust Street from Dodge Street/Highway 20 to Eighth Street from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Bluff and Locust streets, between Fifth and Eighth streets, will be closed to all traffic from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

In addition to on-street parking throughout downtown, event attendees are encouraged to park in the following public parking ramps: Locust Street Ramp at 830 Bluff St., the Fifth Street Ramp at 501 Iowa St., the Iowa Street Parking Ramp at 701 Iowa St., or the Central Avenue Parking Ramp at 975 Central Ave.  The cost to park in the ramps will be $2 per vehicle upon entry.  Free parking will be available in the Port of Dubuque surface lot, west of the McGraw-Hill building.

The municipal parking lot at Fifth and Bluff streets will be closed as part the event’s security zone.  The municipal parking lot at Fifth and Main streets will be reserved for media covering the event.
