CityChannel Dubuque presents “Underwater Panoramas”

DUBUQUE, Iowa — CityChannel Dubuque, in partnership with the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, enables local cable subscribers to turn their televisions into an aquarium with "Underwater Panoramas," Christmas Day at 1 p.m. on the City's government access cable channel (analog channel 8 or digital channel 97.2).

"Underwater Panoramas" presents more than 3½ hours of video from the various tanks and aquariums at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in the Port of Dubuque set to relaxing music and underwater sound effects. "This is a uniquely Dubuque spin on the annual 'Yulelog' tradition of looping video of a fireplace," says Craig Nowack, Cable TV Coordinator for the City of Dubuque. "Watching it is very restful."

Nowack and Video Producer Erich Moeller spent an evening at the museum recording video after hours and compiled the footage to feature the different tanks and aquarium residents. Watching "Underwater Panoramas" gives you the experience of being at the museum. The various creatures floating in and out of the frame coupled with the relaxing music creates a mesmerizing atmosphere.

"Underwater Panoramas" will be repeated at 9 a.m. on New Year's Day. Like all CityChannel Dubuque programs, the video will also be streamed live and archived on the City website at www.cityofdubuque.org/video [http://www.cityofdubuque.org/video] .
