Design Review Application

Process
A design review is a request to alter the exterior of a property. The Historic Preservation Commission has the authority to allow these changes to properties located in one of the City's historic districts or those designated as a landmark or landmark site.

You may need to file an application for a design review if you want to alter the exterior portions of your property that can be seen from the public right of way (including streets, alleys, sidewalks, and public steps).

This process is intended to provide an opportunity to create, change, or affect the exterior architectural features or the structure or site in a way that will not adversely effect the aesthetic, historic, or architectural significance and value of the property or the neighboring properties.
