The ongoing roundabout construction project on N. Grandview Avenue at Delhi Street will transition to the final phase on Monday morning, August 8. This requires a new traffic control pattern which is anticipated to last approximately one to two weeks.
Beginning Monday morning, all approaches to the roundabout will be open and controlled by permanent Yield signs at the entrance to the roundabout. However, the exit lane onto N. Grandview Avenue, on the north side of the intersection, will be closed to accommodate median installation. Due to this exit lane closure, northbound traffic will be detoured onto Delhi Street to University Avenue. All other exit lanes will be open at this time.
During this phase, the remaining truck apron will be completed. Due to the truck apron not being completed until the end of this phase, tractor/trailer traffic is encouraged to use an alternate route at this time.
Completion of the remaining truck apron and medians will require periodic delays to traffic. On-site flaggers will be used when necessary to control traffic while this construction takes place. Motorists can expect minor delays to accommodate equipment and material delivery to the site.
A map of the detour is available at www.cityofdubuque.org/detours. If you have questions regarding this closure/detour, please contact the City of Dubuque Engineering Department at 563-589-4270. Please note that closure dates/times are estimates and are subject to change without notification based on weather and contractor schedules.
